Oh my, what an odd little fish! He's cute, but he looks... well, anxious. If you are feeling like that little fish, I hope you feel better tomorrow. :)

Or maybe you're missing Hawaii! ;)

I just got done perusing your posts from the last few days -- fascinating food for thought about women in the workplace and about monotheism vs. polytheism.

I'm like you, I think it's ridiculous for anyone to link a woman's ability or skill to her fashion sense. It smacks of shoehorning woman into convenient one-size-fits-all images and stereotypes, images which don't necessarily "fit all" women at all.

A quote comes to mind from Cheris Kramerae: "Feminism is the radical notion that women are human beings." Fancy that -- like men, we women are each individuals, and we each, as individuals, have our own unique skills and proclivities and perspectives on the world. It will be a better world when more people figure that out, really allow it sink into their heads.

Here's another quote from the late, great Molly Ivins: "I used to go on college campuses 25 years ago and announce I was a feminist, and people thought it meant I believed in free love and was available for a quick hop in the sack. ... Now I go on college campuses and say I'm a feminist, and half of them think it means I'm a lesbian. How'd we get from there to here without passing 'Go'"?

Hugs to you, my friend! :)
